Card balance to savings. One signature.
Insured yield, settled in about a minute.
Picnic's card wallet held idle balances between purchases with nowhere productive to go. With Pods, a card-to-savings deposit collapses into one signed transaction: insured yield, ~1 minute settlement, no slippage on entry, and withdrawals routed back to the user's main wallet instead of the signer. In the first 15 days, 10% of idle balances were activated with no campaign or user education needed.
Results
- 10% Of idle balances activated in the first 15 days
- ~1 minute Guaranteed settlement
- 1 signature Down from two transactions
Situation
Picnic is the fastest-growing non-custodial wallet in Brazil, the second-largest smart account wallet in the world, and the official Gnosis Pay card distributor in Brazil. Their users keep money in a card wallet, ready to spend, but most of it sits still between purchases. Picnic wanted to give that balance somewhere to go: a savings position users could trust, without turning a savings deposit into a crypto workflow.
Challenge
- Two signatures: the deposit takes multiple transactions across protocols.
- Withdrawals return to the signing wallet: the insurance layer has no destination-address support, which breaks the card-to-savings flow entirely.
- Two-step windows stall: settlement can hang long enough that users think the money is gone.
- Slippage on entry: cross-asset or cross-chain deposits open the position at a loss.
How Pods helped
- One signature: Deposit from the Gnosis Pay card wallet in a single transaction.
- Destination routing: The position lands in the user's main wallet, not the signer, which is what makes card-to-savings possible at all.
- ~1 minute settlement, guaranteed: No waiting on the two-step window.
- No slippage on entry: 1:1 for like-for-like assets, so nobody starts underwater.
- Insured position: Coverage on the vault, priced as a share of yield.
- Tracking API: Balance, PnL, live APY, and historical snapshots per wallet, ready for client-facing screens.
Result
In the first 15 days, 10% of idle balances were activated. Money that sat between card purchases went to work: no campaign, no incentive program, no user education on onchain finance. The flow was short enough and safe enough that people used it. Picnic also uses Pods for Earn.
